When I was a little girl, my parents would send me to my room on Sunday afternoons to nap, just so they could get a few moments of peace and quiet from my motor mouth. At the time, I thought it was the most horrible thing in the world a parent could ever do to a child. I wasn’t forced to sleep during those afternoons, but I was told to close my eyes, just for a little while. During those meditating moments I would imagine that my blanket was the most beautiful ball gown in the world and I could do or be anything I wanted. I imagined how life would be when I grew up and the places I would see. This is when I started my list, which has grown and evolved over the years.
Here are a few of the things on my list. Not all these things have been accomplished, but for the ones that have been, they’ll link to the story once it’s written.
