Shannon has been an evangelist for various causes through volunteering, donations, and word of mouth marketing. She encourages all her readers to find a charity or cause that appeals to their personal situation or interest and to pay it forward. You don’t have to be wealthy to help out. Sometimes all it takes is an hour of your time or even just words of encouragement. Here are some causes Shannon has supported in the past or is actively assisting.

TweetUps for Good/ Together for Good Cruise

Shannon is participating with Family Travel Network and Together for Good to raise awareness on how travelers can give back while on vacation. Join Shannon while she cruises for good visiting underprivileged school children in Mexico and volunteers at orphanages in Guatemala and Belize. You can take part as an active participant or by donating much needed items that will be delivered during this event. The trip will be covered live via Twitter with pictures and videos of the donations being delivered so that virtual participants can experience the joy of putting a smile on a child’s face. Cruise departs out of New Orleans, LA and will occur January 3-10, 2010 with assistance by Norwegian Cruise Line. The official page and itinerary can be found at Together for Good. Future events are being planned. #NCLTweetup4Good
