Shannon DalPozzal is a travel writer and author who divides her time between her home in Louisiana and summers in Maine. She has been employed in the fire service for over 23 years and has written about her off duty travel adventures for the past 17 years. She is married and the mother of two college students. Many of Shannon’s previously published articles can be found under the byline of Shannon Hurst Lane.
Shannon has appeared on Good Morning America, Lifetime Television Network, and produced short travel related news series for various news stations in the United States. She has been featured Internationally on BBC Radio and Scotland’s Folk n Stuff Radio Show, Dumfries.
She is the author of “The Definitive Guide to Travel Writing” (2006) which is currently being updated for its 3rd Edition, and the 4th Edition of “Insider’s Guide: Civil War Sites in the South” (no longer in print).
In 2008, Shannon created the award winning travel blog TravelingMamas.com, the first group travel blog written by moms. Since then, Shannon has participated in marketing campaigns with many companies and destinations in the hospitality and travel industry.
Currently Shannon is writing about Lifestyle, Romantic Getaways, and the cruise industry while also working on a fiction novel under a pen name.
