I love attending brand events to learn about new products on the market to share with my friends at home and readers of TravelingMamas.com. I’ve mentioned before about how thankful I am to be included in many of these amazing experiences that provide me with the ultimate research for producing informative content. I also get many requests from friends who want to see what really goes on behind all these events, as they seem mysterious and exciting to those outside the industry.
Last summer, Chevy held a ride and drive event before the Blogher conference in New York City. I was invited, along with a few other bloggers to check out the Chevy Cruze and Chevy Volt. Our group departed in a Chevrolet Cruze caravan from the Hilton New York for our destination in Pocantico Hills, New York – Blue Hill at Stone Barns. The day was beautiful and we were able to get a scenic glimpse of the state of New York.
We spent the first half of the morning learning about Stone Barns, their mission, and picking snap beans for our lunch.
My blogging buddies, Leigh Caldwell and Stefanie Fauquet also attended and we enjoyed a kitchen demonstration on how to make homemade jelly. My favorite part was sampling the finished product.
After the property tour, we took a ride in the Chevy Volt and learned about this electric vehicle. The ride was comfortable and the transition from electric to gas was smooth.
Our organic lunch was delicious and offered a chance for us to chat with other bloggers in attendance from all over North America.
