The floods are not only devastating to the homes that are invaded by the river water, but the media hype has once again scared tourists away. Below is the latest video clip from the AP regarding St. Francisville, Louisana, the city where my parents reside.
I’m glad to see a reporter recognizing the impact the flooding has on local and regional economies. This is a recurring theme. Natural disaster + media hype = scared tourists. It’s bad enough some people are losing their homes. We can’t let them lose their jobs too. Tourism and Agriculture are important to the economy of Louisiana.
Please help spread the word that Louisiana is still open for business.
