My daughter and I took a visit to Disney’s Contemporary Resort during the Resort Showcase in February. We were able to get a sneak peek of the Contemporary Resort’s new 15 story Bay Lake Tower. We checked out various resorts at Walt Disney World, but the décor at the Contemporary Resort’s Bay Lake Tower got the best rating from my tween.
“Awesome!” is the one word that came out of her mouth. She was ready to stay in the unit we toured and said it was the best place in all of Disney for a girl’s slumber party. It was all I could do to get her to leave. She was ready to move in.
My thoughts on the new tower:
Fantabulous – The decor is an updated, hip, and groovy version of when the resort opened in 1971. I could see this as the resort where Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, or Demi Lovato would stay.
Convenient – The Sky Way Bridge connects the fifth floor of Bay Lake Tower to the fourth floor Grand Canyon Concourse of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It is part of the Disney Vacation Club, so the units offer all the conveniences of home, such as a full kitchen. No worries if you don’t want to cook, my gal and I checked out The Wave Restaurant and give it four thumbs up.
We decided that while all the Walt Disney Resorts and Disney’s Vacation Club lodgings are super-cool, Bay Lake Towers at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a top choice to feel like a rock star. Be sure to check out ThemeParkMom’s post on the Hidden Mickeys at Bay Lake Towers.
From Disney: All 15 stories of the ultra-sleek design continue the original building’s iconic style, which opened with the Magic Kingdom theme park Oct. 1, 1971. Bay Lake Tower complements and pays homage to Disney’s Contemporary Resort while also offering a variety of new amenities and conveniences – kitchenettes or full kitchens complete with granite countertops and modern appliances, and other homelike amenities. In addition, most of the 295 two-bedroom equivalent villas in the crescent-shaped tower offer spectacular views of Bay Lake or Magic Kingdom.
Overnight accommodations at Walt Disney World Resort hotels – including Disney Deluxe Villas– can be arranged by calling 407/W-DISNEY, online at www.disneyworld.com, or through a travel agent.
